1st grade program & Cinco Fiesta

Sweet Rea had her first grade class program this week. She loves getting up there and belting those songs out and we love being able to hear them!

At school the Dual Language classes always have a fiesta for Cinco de Mayo and this year they had it at a park on a Saturday. Rea was able to borrow a dress she loved. The teachers were saying that she looks "just like a little Ray of sunshine". We had a great time!

Catch-up 2010 - Soccer

Hello!

I am sorry that I am so bad about sending pictures! I am really bad at remembering to take them. I am going through some of the photos that I DID take this last year that I have not remembered to send. I am starting out with the soccer season...

This was Reagan's first year and she did awesome! She just seems to pick things up so quickly! The age group she was in included kids as young as 4 all the way up to kids that turned 6 (like her) during the season. I know that it gave her an advantage, but she dominated! Her very first game she scored 3 goals and she never looked back. She was aggressive and totally always hustled, which is hard to do in 110 degree heat!Corban played too. He remains the "go to" player. He likes playing offense but he will play wherever his coach asks him to, even as goalie! Yikes, that is really not his area! He seems to be finding a niche in defense. His big feet have translated into some big kicks. Ha. He really enjoys it as always but is a little more bothered by practicing in the heat.

Bennett is still not into soccer. He did have fun with all of the friends he made on the sidelines though. There was plenty for him to do on the huge soccer fields and if it was too hot, he was perfectly happy to read in the shade.

Corbz for Prez?

Our little go-getter decided he wanted to make a run for student council president this year. We won't find out the result until Monday. We were both able to see him give his speech at school and we are so proud of him! It takes a lot of guts to put yourself out there at that age. He walked in playing "Hail to the Chief" on kazoo but I didn't get it recorded.

We know it is a long shot and that is what makes us even more proud of him. He was the only student who talked about what he would do if elected and promised to be a volunteer even if he doesn't make it.

Pie Wan Doobie 2010

Bennett's turn to race. We took the lazy route and bought a pre-shaped car this year. The funny thing is that meant Bennett actually got to do more of the work on it! Corb help release the cars on the track and I helped judge. It ended up being pretty painless and fun!

Corban's Arrow of Light

Corban has been working on Cub Scouts for a while now. Every year they have another badge to earn (which is different than Boy Scouts where they can earn them at any time) He has earned every one of them. When they do all 4 and some extra achievements they can get the Arrow of Light badge which is the highest the Cub Scouts or boys under the age of 12 can earn. The Cub Master can invite the Order of the Arrow group to give the award. Our awesome Cub Master got it all arranged where they came and did a campfire ceremony for Corban. It was very fun for the boys. Thanks Maya for the photos!
We are proud of Corban and all the work he did. Aaron is in his uniform because he is now Corban's Scout leader. (And Adam will be helping!) What a great excuse for them to go play together!

Welcome sweet Nelia Shawn Lopez!

Maya had her baby girl last week. I haven't been able to take many pics of her yet but here are those that I was able to take at the hospital. Maya didn't have to push very long so her head is nice and round and she has a sweet little face. She was 5lbs 8oz, 19.5 inches long.

This first pic is 5 seconds after she was born, strong and crying!
She looks like Maya when she is mad!

This is after she is all cleaned up, and happy.
She looks like Shawn when she is happy!
We love her SO much and are looking forward to loving that sweet baby
more and more often!!
